About the role

We are seeking a talented CFO, that will have the responsibility to oversee all financial operations of the company. This includes control of all cash flows, financial reporting and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Another important task is the continuous development and execution off our supply and purchasing strategy as well as securing the stock flow for our portfolio of carbon credits. This requires continuous dialogue to maintain close partnerships with different climate projects around the world that are generating carbon credits, as well as with other third-party providers.

As CFO you will be a central part of the business and work closely with our sourcing manager, the sales team, international climate projects, and business partners. You will be part of ZeroMission’s management team and work towards our overall strategy and development. You will report directly to the CEO.

Your responsibilities and tasks include:

• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures (including reporting)
• Financial planning and follow up (KPIs, budget, growth and risks etc)
• Develop and execute on our strategy to secure high quality carbon credits, including forecasting in- and outgoing stock volumes and prices.
• Execute on transactions and retirements of credits in external registries for carbon credits (e.g. IHS Markit Environmental Registry, Gold Standard Registry, VERRA Registry)
• Negotiate contract terms and prices with project developers and third-party providers.
• Represent ZeroMission at conferences and meeting, build international and national partnerships and continue to grow ZeroMission’s partner network.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who shares our values and has a great interest in the climate, sustainability and planetary health. You have experience from financial management or trading and have the motivation to use your expertise and skills to make a difference for the climate in a fast-changing industry. We highly value your personality, innovativeness, accountability, and motivation to learn and deliver outstanding results.

Below are some of the desired qualifications and experiences we are looking for:

• Educational degree required.
• 7+ years of experience in financial management, purchasing or other relevant position, preferably in a sustainability-focused company.
• Experience from working with finance strategies, forecasting, and managing partner/project relations and strategy.
• Excellent communication skills together with enthusiasm, proactivity, curiosity, positive energy, and a can-do mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to evaluate (evolving) markets and standards.
• Fluent in Swedish and English
