LF Fastighetsförmedling is one of Sweden’s largest real estate brokerage chains, with offices throughout the country. Since 2021, the company has been working with ZeroMission to manage its climate impact, from its first climate report to its current structured approach to measurement, insights, and reduction.
For LF Fastighetsförmedling, sustainability is a natural and integral part of its operations. The company’s ambition is to be the most sustainable firm in the real estate brokerage industry, a goal reflected in the fact that, for several years in a row, it has been named the real estate brokerage that Swedes perceive as the most sustainable. This is fully in line with our long-term efforts to measure, reduce, and monitor our climate impact across the entire business—from offices, procurement, and transportation to travel and other business-related emissions.
"We have a clear ambition to be the most sustainable company in the real estate brokerage industry. To succeed, we need not only to set ambitious goals, but also to understand our climate impact and prioritize the right actions. Our collaboration with ZeroMission has provided us with structure, insights, and concrete tools to advance our climate efforts and reduce our emissions,” says Per Sangrund, Head of PR and Sustainability at LF Fastighetsförmedling.
The collaboration with ZeroMission began in 2021, when LF Fastighetsförmedling produced its first climate report with the help of ZeroMission’s climate strategists. The climate report provided the company with a snapshot of its current emissions and served as the foundation for its ongoing climate efforts. A solid foundation—which high-quality climate calculations provide—is essential for prioritizing the right actions moving forward, rather than guessing where efforts will be most effective. That is why this was an important first step.
Based on the first set of financial statements, LF Fastighetsförmedling subsequently held a reduction workshop together with climate strategists from ZeroMission. During the workshop, the team mapped out where the largest emissions were within the business and, together, identified which reduction measures would have the greatest impact. This provided a concrete foundation on which to build.
LF Fastighetsförmedling is now conducting its climate reporting on ZeroMissions’ sustainability platform Our Impacts, a web-based platform built on a database of current emission factors that allows for multiple data providers. The transition to using a platform for the climate report provided LF Fastighetsförmedling with a more consistent and structured view of its emissions, along with the ability to track trends over time.
In addition to the calculation itself, ZeroMission has presented the insights from the climate report to LF Fastighetsförmedling and, as before, developed concrete reduction measures based on the emission figures.
By combining climate reporting, analysis, and mitigation measures, LF Fastighetsförrmedling has established a climate initiative that evolves as the business grows and changes, with continuous support from ZeroMission’s climate strategists.
