Fastighets AB Stenvalvet is one of the leading companies in Sweden in the community property segment and has existed since 2010. In their premises, community services are provided in areas such as education, health and care, justice and public offices.
ZeroMission has had the pleasure of calculating Stenvalvet's climate impact from both operations and their 100+ properties across the country since 2019. The calculation includes most things - from remodeling, water consumption, electricity and heating, vehicles, travel and all kinds of purchases.
Staffan Söderberg, Sustainability Manager at Stenvalvet
Why did you choose to start calculating your climate impact with ZeroMission?
We use many system supports in our sustainability work and for us it is especially important that the tools are educational and flexible. ZeroMission was able to offer such a tool together with experienced consultants who were focused on and knowledgeable about the climate issue.
How does ZeroMission's Our Impacts sustainability platform support your reporting?
Above all, it can be adapted to where we are right now in our journey towards climate neutrality. We have been able to grow with the task in the platform. It also works well for our external auditors when they carry out their audit, which can otherwise be quite time-consuming.
You have properties all over the country. How is data collection done with so many properties?
An important part of our work is to reuse and improve existing community buildings, a process we call circular building economy. Data collection is often done manually, but we are constantly increasing the number of metering points for energy use in buildings and connecting properties to real-time metering.
How has ZeroMission's support been valuable to you?
Climate calculation is a broad area that develops over time and it has been important that ZeroMission has been at the forefront in an agile way and been able to answer both simple and complex questions. High and low, sometimes we need help with the process of setting scientifically based climate goals, sometimes we need to understand how the climate impact of solar panels should be accounted for. Quite simply, a good relief.
