How can you practically measure the climate impact of your business? And how can you go about facilitating sustainability reporting? This was the focus of our seminar the other week, where we invited Lisa Gunnarsson, Sustainability Manager at wine importer Enjoy Wine & Spirits, to talk about the company's "climate awakening". Today, Enjoy uses the Our Impacts tool for continuous measurement and follow-up. Take part in a mini interview!
We felt that we wanted to integrate our sustainability vision at all levels of the business, but it is difficult to integrate something that is not tangible, so we decided to first find out where in the value chain we make the most impact and then start measuring.
Our Impacts has made it so that all of our previously collected information, as well as the new information, is in one place. We also don't rely on you having to think in the same way as the previous 'information collector' because the system does it for you.
Anything that can be measured can be targeted even if you are not a specialist in the field. In our case, just starting to measure has given us a lot of knowledge and inspiration. It has also given us guidance on what is most important for both the planet and for our business to focus on. In the past, we tried to do a little bit of work here and there without really knowing what it would yield. A simple and important climate awakening for the staff was when we could see how much CO2 our coffee drinking amounted to.
Don't think of sustainability as a project, but as an ongoing process and let it take time, because it does. Set smaller interim goals per month and collect data continuously. Look for information online and be inspired by others, there are so many people who want the same thing and together you can make a difference!
