ZeroMission , a leading player in climate strategy and climate financing, is entering into a partnership with Biokol.se. The collaboration combines extensive expertise in the carbon credit market with carbon storage through high-quality biochar that lasts for over 1,000 years.
As requirements for corporate climate reporting become stricter, demand for high-quality carbon credits is increasing. At the same time, biochar has been identified by the IPCC as one of the most promising methods for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere (Carbon Dioxide Removal, CDR). Through its partnership with Biokol.se, ZeroMission can ZeroMission offer companies a direct link to Swedish certified biochar credits.
Biokol.se has a unique method for producing biochar, whereby combustion takes place at a very high temperature for longer than is generally practiced. This results in biochar with a very high carbon content, over 90%, which binds carbon dioxide for over 1,000 years. The biochar is produced using residual products from FSC-certified forests.
Biochar is not only a very long-term carbon sink – where carbon is bound in the soil for over a thousand years – it also improves soil health and can contribute to more abundant harvests in Swedish agriculture.
By integrating biochar credits into their portfolio of climate actions, companies can demonstrate a direct positive impact on both the climate and the local environment.
“We see enormous potential in biochar as part of a credible climate strategy. Through our partnership with Biokol.se, we can offer our customers yet another solution that is both scientifically robust and locally based,” says Henrik Juhlin, CEO of ZeroMission .
“We at Biokol.se are really looking forward to working with ZeroMission. We are passionate about producing the absolute best biochar on the market, which also forms the basis for some of the most credible, secure, and long-term sustainable carbon credits available. All this is made possible by Sweden's only domestically manufactured biochar boiler from Brachio," says Edvard Hamilton, chairman of Biokol.se.

ZeroMission companies take responsibility for their climate impact through strategic advice, climate calculations, and investments in certified climate projects. As a B Corp company, ZeroMission works ZeroMission a sustainable transition with high standards of transparency and ethics.
Biokol.se is a pioneer in the production and distribution of biochar in Sweden. Using innovative pyrolysis technology, they convert organic waste material into valuable biochar that binds carbon and improves conditions for Swedish agriculture and forestry.
