With clear climate goals, Diab takes the lead for an entire industry

October 25, 2021

In 2017, Diab AB became the first in its industry with approved Science Based Targets - absolute climate goals based on current research

Diab is a global company that develops, manufactures and sells materials for structures for, among other things, leisure boats, wind turbines and parts for aircraft, trains, industrial applications and buildings. Diab was the first company in its industry to be approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative. ZeroMission’s role was to carry out calculations and analyses, and to make the application to SBTi. The work has led to Diab setting absolute short- and long-term goals in all emissions scopes.

Science Based Targets in Scopes 1 and 2

By 2022 – reduce by 35%

By 2050 – reduce by 80%

Science Based Targets in Scope 3

By 2022 – reduce by 12%

By 2050 – reduce by 49%

“We are proud to be the first company in the world in the composite industry to set Science Based Targets. It has given us a clear scientific basis for what we as a company need to do to reduce emissions under the Paris Agreement. Now we urge our colleagues in the industry to do the same ”

– Per Hökfält, Sustainability Manager at Diab International.
